Real Estate is ON TOUR and Bearing Gifts!!

(This is the first doubly featured news story since the inception of our newly minted front page. In the not so distant future, "Press Releases," "Limited Edition Secrets" and other "newsy" type stuffs, will only be featured on the front page & through our Google Group.. clearing up the blog for more lofty concepts. Like that adorable slide show I made of all the screen shots I took whilst video chatting..) Please, sign up for that google group.

The Boys of Real Estate are sharers. They Tweet, they hug and Bleeker let me borrow his Bad Ass Baby Bass Guitar once. It's only natural these young men would decide to share their music with the United States (& even a bit of Canada!) So, They've left Brooklyn, kissed Mama Brody adieu and have ventured off into the Great American countryside (..Canada too.)

As excited as we all are, I know a few of you out there are also a bit nervous. A lot of Americans (Canadians) aren't as.. ooh how should i put this... non-committal?.. as the New York crowd tends to be.

"What if I need more?" They're thinking.. "What if we fall in love, and one night of silk guitars and electric blanket reverb isn't enough!"

Well, Underwater Peoples & The Golden Boys of Ridgewood, NJ aren't gonna let you go home without a little phonic scrapbook to remember us by... Relive each soft caress over and over again. Make sure to get Matt's number too, so he can crash at your place the next time Ducktails tours through!

Underwater Peoples in your Sunday Paper!

So the other day, Ari and I sat down to chat with Chris Richards from The Washington Post. I'd say we blabbed for a cool two hours, ranging from topics like doofus frat bands (not Frat Dad, I mean like... that band that plays sublime covers and wears Rasta colored sweatbands) to the World Wide Web. Thankfully Chris, being the journalist that he is, focused more on the latter.

Mr. Richards is a like minded soul, super cool chiller and a real pal. Not only did he sift through our long winded, stoner flamboyance; he researched our roots, pulling links from a wide array of our most beloved of Internet pals.

Check out the article. its a real peach.

Having Sex in the Middle of the Day at CMJ

Personally, I do not engage in sexual acts with partners. It's not like I'm a weirdo with a strange penis or anything, its simply because I own one of these.

But from what I am told however, "love making" is sometimes best enjoyed around lunch time. Hence the inspiration behind our Cameo Gallery showcase. The Information adorns the poster so I won't bore you with a list, read the Robot's legs. Just know there's going to be ill foods, beers n' such, electric rock n' roll and acoustic strums.

If you're interested in how this robot came to be, which you should be because its dope... peep Lawrence Hugh Burns' Blog post. He's quite the artist and we're all very honored by his detailed visualizations.

See you at the show!

Chocolate Robert, Todd Leadfoot & U.W. Peoples Present - Straight Chilling at CMJ

Three very eccentric men are interested in taking you to Monkeytown.

Alone, Robert, Mr. Leadfoot and U.W. aren't really big "Party Dudes!" per-say. While the wild ones indulge, Todd enjoys traditional folk records from Eastern Europe and old Robert listens to Walter Cronkite's "The Moon Landing," on vinyl.

U.W. Peoples is the blandest of the lot, for he passes his days on park benches, mentally critiquing the footwear of women as they hustle by. "The heals are too chunky" He murmurs to himself.

On rare occasion however, These three oddballs like to get together for drinks and a talk. The great war room conferences are usually shut off to the public, yet it is rumored the nights are as lively as they are eccentric...

Robert argues that lady footwear is "the creepiest of hobbies." U.W. slashes back, proclaiming the Moon landing "nothing more than Hollywood smoke and Hollywood mirrors." Todd slings his arms over his head and like a great baboon, crashes his flat palms atop U.W.'s head. "I'll have you know, my Father was an Astronaut! And I will not have you sullying the man's fine career! Todd Leadfoot senior was a modern day Ferdinand Magellan!"

A moment passes, then, a small smile reveals the comment a hoax. The threesome erupt in laughter and slowly bow their noses to their respective cocktails.

On October 20th, You and all your friends have the distinct pleasure of dining with these three kooks, as you all enjoy the beautiful tunes composed live by the men's favorite muses. The place is small so, if you feel like $7.00s is exactly the price you're willing to pay for a night of introspective banter and highly personal tunes.. get your foot in the door!

Fluffy Lumbers (solo)
Family Portrait (duo) "Western Drone Set"
Alice Cohen (solo)
Julian Lynch (via "Hollywood Smoke and Hollywood Mirrors")
Ducktails (solo)
Africa Germany Germany Mexico Turkey Australia

A visual accompaniment will shine across each of Monkeytown's four exterior wall spaces. These ever pleasing light dances will be performed by Todd Ledford, Alice Cohen and Richard Law. The poster was produced by Mike Mimoun.

Sadly, I will not be in attendance... I already made plans for that night. Me and the two men featured in the video below are going out for drinks at a place around the corner from my apartment. I'm going to play "Chinese Violin" in their band.

The Fall - Ray Concepcion

KahriAnne Kerr: Words Left Unspoken - Fall 2009 Collection from Ray ConcepcioƱ on Vimeo.

Ray's the wandering eye of "Brooklyn's" "indie rock" "scene."

His Single Camera // Continuous Shot style puts you squarely in the action, but replaces your helpless beer goggles with the eyes of a far more creative person. Furthermore, his videos have a certain sensitivity to them. They make you stop and re-access what it is you're actually doing at these venues. Do you allow yourself to get a little vulnerable, do you let it all really sink in? Ray certainly does. His honest eyes compliment the good intentions of art makers and affirm those who love them.

Seeing is believing so peep the man's work from his HD enabled Vimeo, which is like what talented people use instead of YouTube.

To wet your taste buds, please enjoy the fashion shoot I posted above (Single Camera // Continuous Shots of pouting models applying lip gloss...) and the ones I picked below... musical performances n' such.

Dudes already worked for all the hype makers and comes highly recommended, imagine how ill your Bar Mitzvah could look.
